Former Neighbours Star Holly Valance Backs Reform UK and Lee Anderson in Political Shift
Former Neighbours actress Holly Valance has made headlines for her recent political alignment, throwing her support behind Reform UK and former Conservative MP Lee Anderson in a surprising shift.
Valance, known for her role as Flick in the popular soap opera, attended the launch of Liz Truss‘ new movement, Popular Conservatism, where she expressed her switch from voting Conservative in the previous election to backing Reform UK in the next.
The actress also attended the picturesque wedding of Boris and Carrie Johnson in the Cotswolds alongside her husband Nick Candy, a prominent property tycoon.
During an interview on GB News, Valance commended Anderson for his unwavering beliefs and criticized political flip-flopping, stating, ‘I support anybody that sticks to what they believe in and isn’t a turncoat’.
Lee Anderson, a former Conservative deputy chairman and MP for Ashfield, recently joined the ranks of Reform UK led by Richard Tice and supported by Nigel Farage, after making controversial remarks regarding London Mayor Sadiq Khan.
Reflecting on her own political journey, Valance admitted to evolving from her earlier left-leaning views to her current alignment with Reform UK.
When asked about her preference for Prime Minister, the actress expressed support for Tory MP Jacob Rees-Mogg, even agreeing with his stance on certain contentious issues like abortion, stating, ‘I’m probably not for late-term abortion, absolutely not’.
Valance clarified recent speculation surrounding her husband Nick Candy’s voting intentions, indicating a misinterpretation of his statements on a podcast that led to confusion about his political allegiance.
Despite the political landscape shifting, Valance does not predict a Reform UK government but acknowledges the impact of the party on the existing political framework.
