Jack Del Rio Arrest Wisconsin

Former NFL head coach Jack Del Rio was arrested on the morning of November 8 for allegedly operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, according to the Madison Police Department. The incident occurred around 12:35 a.m. when Del Rio’s vehicle struck a street sign, broke a fence, and came to a stop in someone’s yard.

Del Rio, who is currently serving as a senior advisor to Wisconsin Badgers coach Luke Fickell, showed signs of impairment when officers responded to the scene. He was taken to a local hospital for a blood draw and later released to a responsible party.

This arrest comes as Del Rio is in his first year with the Wisconsin Badgers, having joined the staff in August. Del Rio has a long history in the NFL, previously coaching the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2003-2011 and the Oakland Raiders from 2015-2017. He also held defensive coordinator roles with several teams, including the Carolina Panthers, Denver Broncos, and Washington Commanders.

The University of Wisconsin has issued a statement indicating that they take matters like this very seriously and are continuing to gather information.
