Former President Trump Considers Texas Governor Greg Abbott as Vice Presidential Candidate
Former President Donald Trump revealed that Texas Governor Greg Abbott is now being considered as a potential vice presidential candidate during a recent appearance on Sean Hannity’s show.
Trump commended Abbott’s firm stance on illegal immigration while in Texas for a border campaign stop.
With Abbott next to him, Trump mentioned on the show that the governor had done an outstanding job, indicating strong consideration for him as a running mate.
When Hannity directly asked if Abbott was on the list of potential candidates, Trump confirmed, stating that Abbott was indeed under consideration.
Abbott, who smiled in response, has in the past noted his contentment with being the governor of Texas when mentioned for other roles.
During a tour with Trump at Shelby Park, Abbott showcased the tough approach the state had taken toward the border by installing barriers and fencing to deter illegal border crossings.
In an hour-long interview on Hannity’s show, the topic of vice presidential candidates was broached, with Abbott’s potential inclusion in the list discussed.
Trump praised Abbott as a remarkable individual and mentioned Tim Scott, a former presidential candidate from South Carolina, as another person under consideration.
Other individuals on Trump’s radar for the vice presidential role include Kristi Noem, Elise Stefanik, Vivek Ramaswamy, Tulsi Gabbard, Byron Donalds, JD Vance, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and Katie Britt.
