Former Senator Dr. Rafiu Ibrahim Passes Away After Brief Illness
Former Senator Dr. Rafiu Ibrahim, who represented Kwara South at the National Assembly from 2015 to 2019, has passed away after a brief illness.
The sad news of Senator Ibrahim’s demise was confirmed by his family through a statement signed by his aide, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir.
The family expressed deep sorrow at the loss of their beloved father, uncle, and brother, highlighting his legacy of dedication, service, and impact.
A separate statement from Alh Wahab Oba, the former press secretary to ex-Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, outlined the funeral arrangements for Senator Ibrahim.
The corpse of the late Senator is expected to arrive at the Ilorin International Airport at noon, with burial scheduled at the Muslims Cemetery in Osere, Ilorin at 2:00 pm.
Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, expressed shock and sadness at the news of Senator Ibrahim’s passing.
In a condolence message, AbdulRazaq extended his sympathy to Senator Ibrahim’s family, the community of Ojoku in Oyun Local Government Area, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He acknowledged the unpredictability of death and prayed for comfort for the family and associates of the late lawmaker.
