Fran Fine Renée Taylor The Nanny Reunion

STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. — Fran Drescher, known for her role as Fran Fine on the beloved show ‘The Nanny,’ joined her former co-stars Renée Taylor and Nicholle Tom on August 9 at Taylor’s new play, ‘Dying Is No Excuse!’

More than 25 years after ‘The Nanny’ concluded, Drescher cheered on her co-stars in what she described as a magical night of theater. She attended the performance alongside her ex-husband Peter Marc Jacobson and posted about the experience on social media.

“This triumph celebrates the creative and complex love filled marriage & relationship between Renee Taylor & Joe Bologna,” Drescher wrote. At 92, Taylor is said to be “a magical genius” in her latest role, bringing life to her and Bologna’s journey, despite his passing from cancer in 2018.

Nicholle Tom, who played Maggie Sheffield on ‘The Nanny,’ also stars in the play as a lead character. Drescher praised Tom as “fearless & incredible,” complementing her performance alongside Jack Maxwell from ‘Booze Traveler,’ who portrays Joe Bologna.

The play also features a diverse supporting cast, highlighting the various experiences in the couple’s life together. Drescher encouraged those near Stockbridge to catch the performance, expressing hope that it would eventually make it to Broadway.

In a heartfelt comment on Drescher’s post, Tom expressed her gratitude. “Thank you so much for coming,” she wrote. “It was amazing to see you and Peter! Your support means the world to me.”
