Good Samaritan Stabbed in Tulsa Donut Shop Parking Lot

TULSA, Okla. — A good Samaritan was stabbed in the neck in a parking lot outside a Tulsa donut shop Friday morning.
Tulsa Police responded to Brown’s Donut Shop near 1300 N. Yale Ave. after receiving reports of the stabbing. Witnesses informed officers that 40-year-old Brandon Poor had been acting erratically across the street, brandishing a knife and setting fires earlier in the morning.
According to reports, a donut shop employee stepped outside on her break when Poor approached her in a threatening manner. A bystander, who noticed the altercation, exited his vehicle to intervene. During the confrontation, Poor stabbed the man in the neck, resulting in serious injuries.
The victim was promptly taken to the hospital. Meanwhile, police apprehended Poor nearby and booked him into the Tulsa County Jail. He is now facing charges of assault and battery with a deadly weapon after previous felony convictions. Poor also had outstanding warrants related to malicious injury to property and failing to register as a sex offender.
Witnesses are cooperating with the investigation, and the police urge anyone with further information to come forward.
