Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay recently visited New Orleans, Louisiana, for the filming of Fox‘s revived television show “Kitchen Nightmares.” During his time in the Crescent City, Ramsay took the opportunity to explore various local restaurants and share his experiences on social media.

Known for his candid opinions, Ramsay explored numerous dining establishments, sampling their offerings and interacting with the culinary creatives behind them. One notable location he visited was St. Pizza, a New York-style pizzeria in New Orleans’ Lower Garden District. The chef shared images of pepperoni pizza from his visit, highlighting the establishment’s contribution to the local dining scene.

Ramsay’s itinerary also included a visit to Acamaya, a newly opened restaurant in the Bywater area specializing in Mexican seafood. He met with the owners, Lydia and chef Ana Castro, and captured the visit on Instagram. The restaurant has been recognized by The New York Times as a noteworthy dining spot.

In addition to promoting local haunts, Ramsay’s journey included a stop at Hungry Eyes, a restaurant with an 80s-inspired theme offering eclectic dishes. The British chef shared a photo of a dish resembling the restaurant’s signature grilled pastrami.

Ramsay frequented Lil Dizzy’s Cafe in the Treme neighborhood, known for its traditional Southern cuisine. The cafe took to social media to express their gratitude for his visits and shared images featuring Ramsay alongside the owners and staff.

Moreover, Cochon, a restaurant in the Warehouse District celebrated for its Cajun cuisine, was among those visited by Ramsay. He showcased his meal there, which included a Boucherie board, on his Instagram account.

His culinary adventure in New Orleans extended to Willa Jean, renowned for its contemporary Southern menu, and Morrow Steak, known for its luxurious offerings. Notably, Ramsay made a stop at Brennan's, a local staple famous for its Creole-inspired dishes, where he experienced the classic Bananas Foster.

Finally, Ramsay visited Parkway Bakery & Tavern, celebrated for its po’boys, and engaged with chef Justin Kennedy to learn more about this iconic New Orleans sandwich.

Throughout his visit, Ramsay maintained his presence on social media, often showcasing the vibrant food culture of New Orleans. The visit not only highlighted Ramsay’s filming commitments for “Kitchen Nightmares” but also underlined his appreciation for the city’s rich and diverse culinary scene.
