Hamas Releases 24 Hostages, Including 13 Israelis, in Gaza
Hamas has released 24 hostages, including 13 Israelis, one Filipino man, and 10 Thai citizens in Gaza.
The group of hostages was brought out of Gaza on the first day of the ceasefire with Hamas. Among the Israeli hostages were four children and their female relatives, who were visiting family at Nir Oz kibbutz when Hamas attacked on 7 October. Five elderly women, four from Nir Oz and one from a nearby kibbutz, were also among the released hostages. The remaining hostages were part of the migrant labor force working in the area.
Below are details about some of the hostages who were released:
Munder family: Keren (54), Ohad (9), and Ruth (78). Ohad turned nine in captivity. His mother, who teaches children with special needs, was visiting relatives in Nir Oz. Ohad’s grandfather, Avraham, remains in captivity. His uncle, Roee, was killed in the attack.
Asher family: Doron Katz-Asher (34), Raz (4), and Aviv (2). Doron, an accountant, lives in Ganot Hadar and was visiting relatives in Nir Oz. Her mother, Efrat Katz, was killed in the attack.
Aloni family: Danielle (45) and Emilia (5). The pair were visiting Danielle’s sister Sharon Aloni-Cunio in Nir Oz with their extended family.
Yaffa Adar (85), Chana Katzir (76), Chana Peri (79), Adina Moshe (72), Margalit Mozes (77), Gelienor ‘Jimmy’ Pacheco (33), and Vetoon Phoome (33) are among the other individuals who were released. No further details have been given about the remaining hostages.
