Heavy Snowfall Expected In Southern Alberta This Weekend

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for parts of southern Alberta as heavy snow is expected this weekend. The warning specifically includes the town of Strathmore and surrounding areas.

According to Environment Canada, snowfall, heavy at times, is anticipated to begin on Saturday afternoon and continue through Sunday. By the time the snowfall ceases, an accumulation of 10 to 20 cm is expected, with the heaviest amounts south of the line stretching from Canmore to Okotoks to Bassano.

Travel in the affected areas may become difficult due to rapidly accumulating snow. Additionally, visibility could be reduced suddenly in periods of heavy snow. Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected, as stated by Environment Canada.

Residents are advised to monitor alerts and forecasts provided by Environment Canada and take necessary precautions when traveling. To report severe weather, individuals can send an email to or tweet reports using the provided contact details.
