Kristi Noem Reality Show Immigrants

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem is proposing a reality television show that aims to showcase the immigrant journey to U.S. citizenship. The series, tentatively titled ‘The American,’ would pit contestants against each other in various cultural challenges.

According to a 35-page program pitch obtained by DailyMail.com, the show would feature immigrants from various backgrounds competing for a chance to fast-track their U.S. citizenship. Contestants would be greeted at Ellis Island in New York, before embarking on a train journey representing their pursuit of American life.

Rob Worsoff, a producer known for shows like ‘Duck Dynasty,’ is behind the concept. He stated, ‘I’m not affiliated with any political ideology. As an immigrant myself, I am merely trying to make a show that celebrates the immigration process.’

The show would include challenges like log rolling in Wisconsin and creating a chassis for a 1914 Model T Ford in Detroit. Each episode would feature a ‘heritage challenge’ along with elimination rounds and a town hall meeting, according to the program details.

Noem’s team is currently seeking partnerships with Netflix or other streaming services to launch the project. Tricia McLaughlin, a spokesperson for DHS, confirmed that staff are reviewing the proposal and that Noem has expressed interest in moving forward.

While some see the show as a celebration of immigration, others within DHS are concerned about the implications of turning personal immigration stories into a competitive format. Insiders have criticized Noem for prioritizing media visibility over substantive policy work, raising questions about her commitment to immigration enforcement.

In Worsoff’s vision, the grand finale would occur in Washington, D.C., where the winning contestant would be sworn in as a new American citizen, marked by an emotional ceremony with a prominent political figure.

Noem, often dubbed ‘ICE Barbie’ for her striking public presence, has faced criticism for her approach to both security and media, with some calling her initiatives shallow and publicity-driven.
