Hunter Sallis Earns Second All-ACC First Team Selection

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Wake Forest men’s basketball senior guard Hunter Sallis has been named a first-team All-ACC selection for the second consecutive season, marking a historic achievement for the program. The announcement was made by the Atlantic Coast Conference on Monday.
Sallis, a native of Omaha, Nebraska, is the first Demon Deacon to receive multiple first-team All-ACC honors since Tim Duncan achieved the feat from 1995-97. He is the 10th player in Wake Forest history to achieve this accolade.
In his senior season, Sallis has elevated his game, starting all 31 matches and averaging a team-high 18 points per game. He has also led Wake Forest in field goals made (202), three-pointers made (42), and assists (88). His scoring prowess has placed him sixth in the ACC during conference play, averaging 18.1 points per game, with ten games scoring over 20 points, including a standout performance of 30 points in a home victory against Stanford.
“Hunter has consistently demonstrated his ability to lead the team and perform under pressure,” said Wake Forest head coach Steve Forbes. “His dedication and hard work have set a solid foundation for our program.”
The Demon Deacons have seen first-team All-ACC selections for four consecutive years, the longest streak since 1992-97. Wake Forest is also the only ACC program with a first-team All-ACC selection in each of the last four seasons, a testament to the team’s growth and competitiveness in the conference.
Alongside Sallis, fellow senior Cameron Hildreth garnered an honorable mention for his noteworthy contributions on the court. The Worting, England, native has averaged a career-high 14.9 points per game while ranking sixth in the ACC in steals during conference play with 33. Hildreth has also become a cornerstone of the team, closing in on tying the program record for career games played.
<p“As a four-year member of this program, it has been rewarding to see my journey come full circle,” Hildreth said. “I’m grateful for the support I’ve received along the way.”
The ACC’s first-team selections also included other standout players like Cooper Flagg from Duke and Maxime Raynaud from Stanford, with Sallis finishing fifth in overall scoring points among the selected players.
As the season progresses, both Sallis and Hildreth look to make significant impacts in the upcoming postseason, aiming to lead their team to new heights.
