Hurricane Humberto Brings Stormy Weather to Central Florida Beaches This Weekend

ORLANDO, Fla. – Hurricane Humberto and Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine are expected to impact Central Florida this weekend, bringing gusty showers, rough surf, and high rip current risks along the U.S. East Coast. As these systems move across the Atlantic, beachgoers are advised to stay alert.
The National Weather Service reports that a few residual showers and isolated storms could linger on Friday night but are expected to dissipate by Saturday morning. Temperatures will remain warm, with overnight lows in the mid-70s.
On Saturday, a diffused cold front will bring breezy conditions, along with an increased chance for afternoon showers and storms. By Sunday and Monday, Central Florida could feel the effects of what may develop into Tropical Storm Imelda, which is projected to curve north over the Atlantic. Outer rain bands from the storm are anticipated to bring additional storms and hazardous surf conditions.
Senior Meteorologist Noah Bergren from FOX 35 emphasizes the importance of caution, especially at the beaches, due to the potential for life-threatening rip currents. ‘If you’re heading to the beach this weekend, be extra careful and swim where lifeguards are present,’ Bergren advised.
As the weekend weather unfolds, the worst conditions are expected to arrive on Sunday and Monday, causing deep tropical moisture to be pushed away. Following the storm’s departure, Central Florida may see drier and more comfortable weather as the week progresses.
In addition to Hurricane Humberto, Hurricane Gabrielle has escalated to a major hurricane but is moving away from the U.S., posing no immediate threat. However, other tropical waves are being monitored that could impact future weather patterns in the region.
Stay tuned for ongoing updates as the weather evolves this weekend.
