Indy Supercross Showdown Sees Haiden Deegan Claim Win

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana — The 2025 Indianapolis Supercross featured an exhilarating 250SX East/West Showdown that culminated with Haiden Deegan claiming his second career win on March 8. The event, held at the packed Lucas Oil Stadium, showcased the competitive spirit of both divisions amidst cold weather conditions.
The Showdown marked the first of three events where the two divisions raced together this season in the 17-round Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship. Deegan secured the victory, finishing ahead of Tom Vialle and Justin Cooper, as fans filled the dome with excitement despite an expected high of only 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
“It feels amazing to cross the finish line first, especially in such a competitive field,” Deegan said, still catching his breath after the intense main event. “Winning in Indianapolis is a special moment for me, and I want to keep this momentum going.”
The race kicked off with Deegan surging ahead from the start, demonstrating remarkable skill on the challenging track. Seth Hammaker, who led early on, managed to secure the win with impressive riding techniques, proving to be a force to reckon with.
“I put in work during the offseason, and it’s paying off now,” Hammaker stated. “I’m excited to contribute to my team’s success.”
Ken Roczen, a consistent podium finisher, had high hopes coming into the event but faced stiff competition, managing to finish fourth in the 450SX Class. Roczen is a four-time winner at Lucas Oil Stadium, but the pressure mounted with each passing lap. “I tried to keep pace, but the younger riders are really stepping up their game,” he remarked after the race.
450SX results saw Cooper Webb and Chase Sexton round out the top three. Webb has stated several times the importance of consistency in the championship, emphasizing that every point counts in the closely contested series.
Amidst various crashes during the qualifying rounds, the event maintained momentum as riders like Haiden Deegan, Coty Schock, and Michael Mosiman performed exceptionally well in the 250SX West category, showcasing their talents and ensuring their places for future events.
The Indianapolis Supercross has proven to be a pivotal point in the season, setting the stage for increased competition as riders aim for the championship title. Upcoming events include the MXGP of Castilla la Mancha on March 16 and Supercross Birmingham on March 22.
