Investment Banker Jonathan Kaye Caught in Altercation Following Brooklyn Pride Parade
An incident involving investment banker Jonathan Kaye of Moelis & Co. has sparked controversy in Brooklyn‘s Park Slope following the annual LGBTQ pride parade. The altercation, captured on video, shows Kaye punching an unidentified individual, leading to public outrage.
The 10-second video, which went viral on social media, reveals Kaye striking the person in the face before walking away. Despite the lack of context in the video, witnesses claim the dispute may have stemmed from a discussion on the Israel-Gaza conflict.
Moelis & Co. swiftly responded to the incident, acknowledging Kaye’s involvement and initiating an internal investigation. Meanwhile, the New York City Police Department stated they are aware of the video but no formal report has been filed regarding the altercation.
The Brooklyn Pride Board, organizers of the LGBTQ celebration, condemned the violence and forwarded the footage to local law enforcement. However, the individual punched by Kaye in the video remains unidentified, leaving the circumstances surrounding the altercation unclear.
Community members in Park Slope expressed anger over the incident, with flyers denouncing Kaye appearing near his residence. While Kaye has not publicly commented on the altercation, he has been placed on leave by Moelis & Co. pending the outcome of the investigation.
