Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi Discusses Economic Opportunities in Pakistan with Chief Ministers of Sindh and Punjab
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi embarked on a visit to Pakistan, engaging in discussions on economic opportunities during meetings with Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
Raisi’s official visit commenced in Karachi, where he received a warm reception from Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori and Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah at Jinnah International Airport. The Iranian president paid respects at Mazar-i-Quaid before proceeding to meet with the Sindh Chief Minister at the Governor House.
During the meeting in Karachi, discussions focused on potential investments and economic prospects between Iran and Pakistan. The Iranian president was awarded an honorary doctorate by Governor Tessori, acknowledging the deep-rooted relations between the two nations.
Subsequently, Raisi’s visit extended to Punjab, where he was greeted by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore. The Iranian president emphasized the strong connection and historical ties between Iran and Pakistan, expressing admiration for the revolutionary spirits present in the Pakistani populace.
Raisi visited Allama Iqbal’s mausoleum, laying a floral wreath and offering prayers, underscoring the significance of the Pakistani poet-philosopher in Iranian culture. The leaders discussed cultural exchanges and mutual prosperity initiatives.
The visit aims to strengthen bilateral ties between Pakistan and Iran amidst regional tensions in the Middle East. Raisi’s engagements in Pakistan underscore the importance of economic collaboration and shared cultural heritage.
