British broadcaster ITV has secured the acquisition of two prominent drama series, ‘Welcome to Chippendales’ and ‘Culprits‘, from Disney Entertainment. These series are set to premiere exclusively on the network’s new streaming platform, ITVX, later this year, where they will be available to viewers without charge.

‘Welcome to Chippendales’ is a biographical series that chronicles the life of Somen Banerjee, an Indian immigrant who rose to fame as the founder of the renowned male-striptease group. The narrative reveals Banerjee’s relentless pursuit of success, often at any cost. The series boasts a stellar cast featuring Kumail Nanjiani, Murray Bartlett, Juliette Lewis, and Annaleigh Ashford. The lineup is further enriched by appearances from Quentin Plair, Robin de Jesús, Andrew Rannells, and Spencer Boldman, along with special guest stars Nicola Peltz Beckham and Dan Stevens.

‘Culprits’ is a crime thriller focusing on Joe Petrus, a family man facing the repercussions of a criminal past. While he appears to live the American dream with his fiancé and stepchildren, a shadow from a three-year-old crime threatens his idyllic life. As a mysterious killer begins targeting his former accomplices, Petrus is compelled to return to London to unearth the truth and protect his family. Notable British actors including Nathan Stewart-Jarret, Niamh Algar, Gemma Arterton, Eddie Izzard, and Kirby lend their talents to this gripping series.

The strategic content deal between ITV and Disney Entertainment was finalized by Sasha Breslau, ITV’s Head of Content Acquisitions. These additions join ITV’s expanding content lineup, which already includes other Disney acquisitions like ‘Under the Banner of Heaven’ and ‘Extraordinary.’
