Ivanka Trump Reflects on Father’s Presidency, Plans Support Role in Second Term
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Ivanka Trump, daughter of former President Donald Trump, recently opened up about her father’s presidency and her plans to support him during his potential second term. Speaking on a podcast, Ivanka described the presidency as “the world’s loneliest position” and expressed her desire to provide emotional support to her father in a more personal capacity.
During her father’s first term, Ivanka served as a senior White House adviser, a role that often placed her at the center of political controversies. Reflecting on those years, she acknowledged the challenges of the presidency, stating, “The enormity of the decisions you’re making on a daily basis, how transactional everyone is with you – it’s a very lonely perch.”
Ivanka emphasized her preference for policy over politics, calling the latter a “dark, negative business.” She revealed that she plans to support her father from Florida, focusing on being a daughter rather than an adviser. “I’m most looking forward to just being able to show up for him as a daughter,” she said. “To take his mind off things, to watch a movie with him, or watch a sports game, to know that he can be with me and be himself and just relax.”
Donald Trump, who is preparing for a potential second term, faces a range of challenges, including foreign wars, inflation, and tensions with China. Ivanka expressed optimism about the future, noting that her father is “excited” and that there is a “general excitement in this country.”
Her husband, Jared Kushner, also served as a senior adviser during Trump’s first term, a role that drew significant scrutiny. As the Trump family prepares for a possible return to the White House, Ivanka’s comments highlight the personal toll of political life and her desire to balance familial support with the demands of public office.
