Jani Master’s Wife Calls for Evidence in Sexual Abuse Allegations
Ayesha, the wife of renowned Telugu choreographer Shaik Jani Basha, widely known as Jani Master, has come forward to discuss the sexual abuse allegations her husband is currently facing. In a recent interview, Ayesha firmly denied the accusations, insisting that her husband has never engaged in such misconduct throughout his professional life.
In an interview given to TV9, Ayesha questioned the timing and motivations behind the charges, urging the complainant to present evidence of the alleged assault. She further stated that she would consider leaving her marriage if such proof was provided. Ayesha remarked, “The allegation that the woman was harassed when she was 16 is disgusting. There is no truth in it. If the girl can show evidence, I will leave Master.”
Ayesha also expressed her confidence in her husband’s character, mentioning their 14 years of marriage. Asserting his innocence, she asked why the woman, identified as a previous colleague, had not brought complaints earlier and had, instead, expressed gratitude to Jani Master for aiding in her career development.
Jani Master was remanded to judicial custody for 14 days after being produced in the Upparpally court. His arrest follows a complaint filed by a 21-year-old woman who claims she was still a minor when the alleged assaults began. Police officials have declared that they will apply for a custody petition shortly to further investigate the matter, emphasizing that the case against Jani Master remains robust and there is little chance of bail.
The incident has sparked widespread discussions concerning women’s safety in the film industry and other workplaces. The case has also garnered attention from various organizations, including the Telangana Women’s Commission and the Movie Artists Association (MAA), who have expressed their support for the investigation.
Jani Master is currently held at the Chanchalguda Central Jail in Hyderabad, with ongoing discussions regarding subsequent legal proceedings.
