Jay Z Lawsuit Allegations Tiktok Video

MOBILE, Alabama — Jay-Z, born Shawn Carter, has intensified his legal battle against a woman identified only as Jane Doe, filing an amended complaint that includes new allegations against her and her lawyer, Tony Buzbee. The updated filing, submitted on Monday, claims Doe continues to make public statements that damage his reputation, despite her previous decision to withdraw a sexual assault lawsuit.

Last December, Doe publicly accused Jay-Z of raping her at an MTV Video Music Awards afterparty when she was 13. In April, she posted a TikTok video asserting her stance against any apology. Jay-Z’s amended complaint states, ‘By refusing to apologize, and continuing to ‘stand on what [she] said,’ Doe continues to display a shocking and reckless disregard for the truth.’

According to Jay-Z’s legal team, Doe acted with ‘reckless disregard for the truth,’ asserting that her allegations were baseless. They argue that Doe’s statements lack any reasonable grounds and label them as outright lies.

The new allegations come as Buzbee and Doe sought to dismiss Jay-Z’s original lawsuit, claiming he failed to demonstrate the ‘special injury’ necessary for his claims. Buzbee stated that the $20 million loss Jay-Z cited was insufficient proof. In his amended complaint, Jay-Z argues that the loss represents the minimum fee for an undisclosed contract that, had it been fulfilled, would have earned him millions more.

The complaint claims the fallout from Doe’s allegations denied Jay-Z a personal credit line of $55 million and also impacted Roc Nation, which was reportedly denied a $115 million loan. Jay-Z maintains that he and Roc Nation are closely linked, meaning damages to one impact the other.

Buzbee responded to the latest filing, calling it ‘meritless’ and accused Jay-Z of trying to retaliate against lawyers for fulfilling their responsibilities. He also expressed skepticism about allegations that his firm edited Wikipedia pages to benefit Buzbee and harm Jay-Z’s reputation, referring to them as ‘incredibly weak.’

Earlier this year, Jay-Z filed a lawsuit against Doe after previously suing Buzbee and his law firm over the allegations. The legal proceedings have included numerous hearings, with a California judge ordering the submission of recorded statements made by Doe to private investigators.

In a recording, Doe acknowledged that while Jay-Z was present at the VMAs afterparty, he did not engage in any improper acts. Buzbee later claimed that Doe felt intimidated by investigators and that her words had been misrepresented. The next hearing for the California case is scheduled for June 12.
