Kazakhstan and Oman Discuss Bilateral Relations and Middle East Tensions

Kazakhstan Oman Foreign Ministers Meeting

Astana, Kazakhstan — Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Murat Nurtleu spoke by phone with Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman, on June 17, 2025. The call focused on strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries.

The two ministers noted the ongoing progress in various sectors, including political, trade, economic, transport, and logistics. They highlighted the strategic importance of both nations as regional logistics hubs and the need to enhance transit routes.

During the call, Nurtleu expressed concern about the military escalation in the Middle East. He emphasized Kazakhstan’s commitment to seeking a diplomatic resolution to conflicts based on international law principles.

The discussion also covered current regional and global issues, where both ministers exchanged perspectives on challenges facing the Middle East.

In closing, Nurtleu and Albusaidi agreed to continue fostering bilateral cooperation and to remain engaged within international frameworks like the UN and OIC. Nurtleu is scheduled to lead a Kazakh delegation at the 51st session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Istanbul, Türkiye.
