Russian forces have advanced into Toretsk, a strategically significant city in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region, as reported by several sources. The capture of Toretsk is pivotal for Moscow’s ambitions to secure control over the entire Donbas area, further intensifying the conflict in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, the Director-General of MI5, Ken McCallum, has issued a stark warning regarding Russia’s intentions. Speaking publicly, McCallum stated that Russia aims to create “mayhem” on the streets of the United Kingdom. He highlighted the multifaceted threats facing the UK from state-sponsored terrorism, including from Russia. According to McCallum, more than 750 Russian diplomats, many suspected of espionage, have been expelled from Europe since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine began.
