Barbora Krejcikova Korea Open Tennis 2025

SEOUL, South KoreaBarbora Krejcikova took advantage of a brief dry spell at the Korea Open 2025 presented by Motiva, defeating qualifier Tatiana Prozorova 6-1, 6-2 on September 16, 2025. The match lasted 1 hour and 16 minutes, allowing Krejcikova to advance to the second round.

The two-time major champion was the only player to complete a match on Day 2 of the tournament in Seoul. Krejcikova experienced significant delays, waiting over two hours before her match could begin. Just minutes after her win, rain returned, causing more postponements.

Krejcikova’s next opponent will be either No. 8 seed Emma Raducanu or Jaqueline Cristian, whose first-round match is one of five others that had to be postponed until Wednesday. Only two other players began their matches on Tuesday; No. 5 seed Diana Shnaider split sets with qualifier Caty McNally before rain halted play, while defending champion Beatriz Haddad Maia‘s match against wild card Back Dayeon was also suspended.

The weather conditions continue to impact the tournament’s schedule, with several matches already postponed due to rain. Players and organizers seek clear skies as the competition proceeds.
