Lakers Missing Four Players for Preseason Game Against Suns

LOS ANGELES, California — The Los Angeles Lakers have announced that four players will not participate in their preseason game against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday. Gabe Vincent, Rui Hachimura, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Jaxson Hayes are all ruled out, leaving coach JJ Redick to adjust his lineup.
No specific injuries were cited for Vincent, Hachimura, and Vanderbilt, suggesting they might return for the following game against the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday. This decision reflects a cautious approach as the Lakers navigate a back-to-back preseason schedule.
In addition, LeBron James will also sit out the preseason due to ongoing issues with sciatica. “I just gotta be more aggressive,” Reaves said regarding James’ absence after the Lakers’ last game. “With him being out, I can attack the rim more.”
Despite these absences, key players will be available for the matchup, including Deandre Ayton, Austin Reaves, and Jake LaRavia, who will form a makeshift starting lineup. Redick hopes to finalize a rotation before opening night against the Suns.
The Lakers are currently 1-2 in the preseason and will close out their schedule against the Sacramento Kings on Friday. The team’s depth will be tested due to the injuries, but it provides a chance for younger players to gain valuable experience.
