LOS ANGELES, CA – Country singer Langley has released a new single titled “Choosing Texas,” which many fans interpret as a reflection of her own romantic experiences. The song debuted on October 17, 2025, stirring up discussions about potential love triangles involving Langley, fellow singer Riley Green, and another artist, Moroney.

Rumors about a romantic connection between Langley and Green began to circulate in late 2024 and continued into mid-2025. These speculations included claims that they became flirty while recording their duet “You Look Like You Love Me.” Green later dated Moroney, but none of the artists confirmed any of the rumored relationships, and they have all denied the claims.

Despite the denials, social media analysts have scrutinized the lyrics and artwork of “Choosing Texas” for clues. The single’s cover features a man and a blonde woman joyriding in a convertible, reminiscent of Green and Moroney’s outings in Alabama. The artwork also includes a road sign reading “Welcome to Amarillo,” although none of the artists are originally from Texas.

Adding to the intrigue, Miranda Lambert co-wrote the song and provided backing vocals. However, fans hoping for hints about the rumored love triangle may be disappointed. The lyrics focus more on heartbreak than blame, giving a gracious nod to the other woman.

“Choosing Texas” presents Langley as a thoughtful songwriter, known for her emotional depth. In a departure from other heartbreak anthems like “Before He Cheats,” her song is more akin to “Jolene”—sad yet gracious. She reflects on lost love, acknowledging she should have anticipated the outcome of her relationship, stating, “When I thought I got him to fall in love with Tennessee, I should’ve known better…”

With strong collaborations, including Lambert and Luke Dick, Langley’s writing continues to resonate within the country genre. Fans searching for the latest scandal may find the song lacks any direct revelation but ultimately showcases Langley’s poignant storytelling.
