Legal Resolution as Angelina Jolie Drops Lawsuit Against Brad Pitt
In a significant development in the prolonged legal battles between Hollywood stars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Jolie has withdrawn a lawsuit against the FBI and the Department of Justice. The legal action, which related to their troubled marriage and a 2016 incident on a private jet, has been a point of contention between the former couple for years.
According to sources close to Pitt and Jolie, the actress’s decision to drop the lawsuit indicates a shift in her focus towards moving on with her life. “She’s now more focused on moving forward and enjoying life,” an insider told a media outlet. Jolie was recently seen hosting gatherings at her Atelier Jolie studio and attended the New York Film Festival with her children, conveying a sense of newfound relaxation and happiness.
The lawsuit involved claims surrounding a 2016 incident during a private flight where Pitt allegedly argued with their son Maddox. Reports from the FBI indicated that Pitt was intoxicated and engaged in a heated argument, behaving “like a monster.” Jolie stated she felt “frozen and scared” during the altercation, which allegedly left her with minor injuries.
Despite Jolie’s grievances, the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services investigated the incident and cleared Pitt of any wrongdoing, resulting in no charges being filed. However, Jolie pursued additional information by filing a Freedom of Information Act request, citing a probable cause statement by an FBI agent that was never acted upon by prosecutors.
While some view Jolie’s withdrawal as a victory for Pitt, as one source commented, “Technically, it’s a win for Brad,” it is also suggested that the reputational damage has already been done. Amid these legal challenges, it has been reported that some of the couple’s children have opted to drop Pitt’s surname, which has been an emotional blow to the actor.
Addition to their legal entanglements, rumors have emerged regarding Jolie’s personal life, with recent sightings linking her to American rapper Akala, though no official relationship status has been confirmed. Meanwhile, Brad Pitt has been in a relationship with Ines De Ramon since November 2022.
As the legal battles over their children and other matters, including the French winery Château Miraval, continue, both Pitt and Jolie appear to be making strides in their personal lives post-divorce.
