Lismore City Council Flood Restoration Projects

Lismore, Australia – The Lismore City Council announced the successful completion of 120 projects as part of its Flood Restoration Portfolio, following the devastating natural disasters of 2022. Many additional projects are nearing completion, demonstrating the council’s commitment to recovery efforts.

Recent projects include essential upgrades to flood pumps and significant landslip repairs in the hills around Nimbin. These enhancements aim to fortify the region against future flooding events, with more improvements expected in the next 12 months.

“These achievements wouldn’t be possible without the support and encouragement of our community and government partners,” Lismore City Mayor Steve Krieg said. “Together, we’re delivering projects that protect homes, connect communities, and strengthen our city—with benefits that will be felt for years to come.”

The restoration efforts are funded jointly by the Australian and New South Wales governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements. The successful completion of these projects marks a significant step toward rebuilding the community and ensuring its resilience for the future.
