Lorde Charli Xcx Concert Collaboration Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, California — Lorde surprised fans during her Ultrasound World Tour concert at Kia Forum on Saturday night by inviting Charli XCX to join her on stage for a special performance of their remix of “Girl, So Confusing.” The moment electrified the 18,000 attendees, marking their first live rendition of the popular collaboration.

As excitement built, Lorde teased the surprise by writing the word “Girl” on her palm before heading to a small platform in the middle of the arena. The audience erupted as the familiar beat of the remix began to play, with a video showcasing Charli preparing to join her.

Charli XCX made her way through the crowd and stepped onto the stage to deliver her verse. The duo’s spirited performance captivated fans, showcasing their dynamic chemistry and the song’s themes of female friendship. “Can I trust you?” Lorde asked as she started the engaging set.

The pair had previously performed together at notable events, including Charli’s Coachella set in April and Madison Square Garden during the Sweat Tour last September. But Saturday’s appearance was special, as it positioned Lorde as the main performer, featuring Charli as a guest.

“Well, honestly, I was speechless,” Lorde sang, reflecting on their shared experiences as female artists in an industry often characterized by competition. The lyrics resonated with many in the crowd, reinforcing the idea of unity among women in music.

As their performance concluded, the two artists shared an embrace. Charli thanked the audience, allowing Lorde to take the stage solo to close out her set with the fan-favorite song “Ribs.” The night encapsulated both artists’ journeys and their evolving friendship.

The concert was part of Lorde’s ongoing tour, which will continue with stops in Portland and Seattle before heading to Europe. “Things have gotten very raw and real for me in the last couple of years,” Lorde shared with the audience, emphasizing the importance of emotional expression in her performances.
