Ford Car Models Safety Recall

SAN ANTONIO – Several major car manufacturers have announced recalls due to significant safety issues, as reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Ford, Mazda, GM, and Kia are among those recalling specific vehicle models over concerns ranging from engine defects to airbag failures.

Ford is recalling more than 150 vehicles including the 2025 Transit, F-150, and Explorer due to potential engine failures caused by defective components. Notification letters about this recall will be mailed on Monday, with further remedy details to follow.

The NHTSA identified Ford’s recall number for this issue as 25S55. Another recall involves over 6,500 vehicles, specifically 2024 to 2025 Lincoln Nautilus, 2023 to 2025 Escape, Corsair, Maverick, and Bronco Sport, where the engine block heater may overheat when parked and plugged in.

Dealers will inspect and replace the necessary components free of charge. The notification for this recall, numbered 25S52, was sent out on June 6.

Additionally, Ford is recalling more than 30,000 2024 Nautilus vehicles due to display issues that may lead to a blank screen, including critical information like speed and warning lights. Owners can expect notification letters by June 16 under recall number 25C21.

Another 1,800 Ford vehicles are being recalled due to potential engine fires resulting from previous recall issues. The NHTSA advised owners to park and shut off their vehicles if they notice unusual sounds or smoke.

Representatives from Ford highlighted that 63,900 2025 Maverick vehicles are affected by airbag indicator problems, which could mislead owners about the airbag status, increasing risk in crashes. Repair services will be provided at no cost, with notifications expected soon.

Other manufacturers have also issued recalls. Mazda is recalling over 171,000 Mazda3 and CX30 vehicles from 2024 to 2025 because airbags may not deploy during a collision. The affected owners will receive notification by July 28.

Kia’s recall impacts more than 82,000 K5 vehicles due to parking light issues caused by a software error that can be resolved via an OTA update. Notifications are set to be mailed on June 24.

General Motors is addressing problems with over 41,000 Cadillac Lyriq vehicles from 2023 to 2024, where the driver’s display may blank out while driving. Solutions will also be provided for free, and letters will be sent to owners by July 14.
