Beijing, ChinaAdrian Mannarino halted Alexander Bublik‘s winning streak at the China Open, scoring a decisive 6-3, 6-2 victory in the first round on September 26, 2025. Bublik, who had recently won a title in Hangzhou, struggled to find his rhythm against Mannarino.

Despite being known for his powerful serve, Bublik managed only three aces, significantly fewer than Mannarino’s eight. Mannarino converted key break points, showcasing his precision and control through the match. ‘I focused on playing my game and it worked out well today,’ said Mannarino after the match.

Bublik’s loss is disappointing as he aimed to solidify his position in the PIF ATP Live Race To Turin, where he was ranked 12th prior to the tournament. ‘I didn’t capitalize on my opportunities today. I need to regroup as I head to Shanghai,’ Bublik remarked.

Mannarino’s victory advances him to the second round, where he will face Lorenzo Musetti, who defeated Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in a closely contested match. Musetti is also striving for a debut appearance in the Nitto ATP Finals this year.

Meanwhile, in other first-round matches at the China Open, Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev both secured their places in the second round with convincing wins. Sinner overwhelmed Marin Cilic with a score of 6-2, 6-2, while Zverev defeated Lorenzo Sonego 6-4, 6-3.
