Marlow’s Cheesesteaks to Open New Location at North Market Downtown
Marlow’s Cheesesteaks is set to expand its reach in Central Ohio with a new location at the North Market Downtown in Columbus. The opening is expected by mid-October, though an exact date remains unspecified at this time.
The establishment, known for its authentic Philadelphia-style cheesesteaks, was founded by Jomar and Shannika Sheppard, both natives of Philadelphia. The menu includes popular items such as cheese whiz-covered cheesesteaks, provolone cheese, and water ice, a Philadelphia dessert similar to snow cones, offering a richer, creamier texture.
The eatery’s signature dish, the “Marlow,” features steak, cheese whiz, provolone cheese, sautéed onions, mushrooms, hot peppers, mayonnaise, and spicy mustard, making it a favorite among patrons.
Marlow’s Cheesesteaks initially launched as a food trailer in 2021. Since then, it has established a brick-and-mortar location in Gahanna and opened in Budd Dairy Food Hall and Ohio Stadium. The new site at North Market will take over the space previously occupied by Willowbeez SoulVeg.
Shanika Sheppard expressed the team’s excitement in a press release: “The North Market is an iconic place in Columbus, Ohio, that has been a part of the city for 148 years, and we are honored and excited about the opportunity to partner with North Market and further expand our footprint and services to Downtown Columbus.” She added, “We have been serving up our cheesesteaks since 2021, and for us to receive an opportunity to share a part of our hometown with Central Ohio is a blessing.”
