Mega Millions Jackpot Hits $714 Million, Next Draw Friday

Asbury Park, NJ — The winning numbers for the Mega Millions drawing on Tuesday, Oct. 28, have been announced, with the jackpot reaching an estimated $714 million, or $334.1 million for the cash option.

The winning numbers for the drawing are 2, 19, 33, 53, and 61, with the Mega Ball number of 14. No one won the jackpot for this drawing, which means the prize will grow for the next draw.

The next Mega Millions drawing is set for Friday, Oct. 31, at 11 p.m. ET. In New Jersey, players can purchase tickets until 10:45 p.m. on draw days, while purchases in some other states close at 10 p.m.

Tickets cost $5 and include a built-in multiplier feature, which increases non-jackpot prizes by up to 10 times. This replaces the former Megaplier option.

The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 290,472,336. For players hoping to win smaller prizes, matching the Mega Ball or one of the five white balls can yield various payouts. For example, matching just the Mega Ball can win players amounts ranging from $10 to $50.

Winning tickets can either be claimed as a lump sum or through an annuity, which pays in increasing annual installments over 30 years. According to the Mega Millions website, “This helps protect winners’ lifestyle and purchasing power in periods of inflation.”

If multiple winners hit the jackpot, the prize will be shared equally among all tickets that matched the winning numbers.
