No Mega Millions Jackpot Winner as $381 Million Drawing Begins

DETROIT, MI — The winning numbers for the Mega Millions drawing held on Friday, Sept. 12, 2025, were announced, revealing no jackpot winner. The numbers drawn were 17, 18, 21, 42, and 64, with the Mega Ball being 7. This drawing featured an estimated jackpot of $381 million, which includes a cash option of $175 million.
The next opportunity to win big comes on Tuesday, Sept. 16, as the Mega Millions jackpot climbs to an estimated $400 million with a cash option of $185.8 million. The drawings occur every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. ET, with ticket sales closing at 10:45 p.m. on the night of the draw.
Each Mega Millions ticket costs $5, where players select six numbers from two groups: five numbers from 1 to 70 and one Mega Ball from 1 to 24. There is also an Easy Pick option available for players who prefer a quick selection. Previously called the Megaplier, the new built-in multiplier randomly increases non-jackpot winnings by two, three, four, five, or 10 times, boosting players’ chances for smaller prizes.
The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot remain a daunting 1 in 290,472,336. Players can find winning numbers posted on various lottery websites and can choose between an annuity payout or a one-time cash payment if they win the jackpot. The annuity consists of one immediate payment followed by 29 annual increases of 5% each year, aiming to sustain winners’ purchasing power amid inflation.
In case multiple individuals win the jackpot, the prize is shared equally among all winning tickets. The most recent Mega Millions jackpot winner was in Virginia on June 27, where a lucky player took home $348 million.
