Meghan King Loses Custody of Kids Amid Emotional Abuse Allegations
ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Former reality star Meghan King has lost custody of her three children following an investigation by Child Protective Services (CPS). Reports confirm that a school employee contacted CPS, leading to a decision that was made in the past months. As a result, King has been granted supervised visitation while her ex-husband Jim Edmonds has sole physical custody.
The temporary custody decision requires further evaluation at a hearing scheduled for early December. Sources indicate that the investigation was triggered by concerns raised about King’s interactions with her children, particularly her eight-year-old daughter, Aspen, and seven-year-old twins, Hart and Hayes.
King and Edmonds, married from 2014 until 2019, had agreed to share joint custody of their children in a settlement reached in May 2021. However, tensions have escalated recently. A police report obtained by Us Weekly outlines an incident on May 1 at the home Edmonds shares with his current wife, Kortnie Edmonds.
During that encounter, King confronted Edmonds and his wife about a dress for her daughter. An altercation ensued after Kortnie allegedly told King the children were not home, prompting King to enter the house. Kortnie reported the incident to the police, initially requesting charges against King, but later decided against pressing charges.
In a statement to officers, King described her ex-husband as “emotionally abusive,” claiming he manipulates her with his wealth and influence. Jim Edmonds’ representative dismissed her claims, stating that he is an active father and that King has not been cooperative in co-parenting.
The ongoing custody arrangement and tensions between King and Edmonds are expected to be discussed further in December as the situation continues to develop.
