Milan, Italy — Meryl Streep brought back her iconic character Miranda Priestly during the Dolce & Gabbana Spring-Summer 2026 collection show on Saturday. Streep attended the event in character, wearing Priestly’s signature sunglasses and a stylish Dolce & Gabbana vinyl trenchcoat.

Accompanied by Stanley Tucci, who plays her art director in the sequel, Streep entered the Milan theater surrounded by security. Throughout the show, which featured music by Italian singer Patty Pravo, Streep’s character was seen consulting with Tucci as models walked the runway.

The Dolce & Gabbana press office confirmed that the scene was filmed for inclusion in the much-anticipated sequel to “The Devil Wears Prada,” which has been shooting in Milan. Fans of the original film may recall a memorable scene featuring Anne Hathaway’s character asking, ‘Can you please spell “Gabbana?”‘

The collection showcased both nightwear and bold styles, including cozy men’s pajamas adorned with rhinestones and delicate black lace lingerie. The designers drew inspiration from layering techniques, featuring an array of jackets in various materials and eye-catching footwear.

As the show concluded, Streep and Tucci were quickly ushered backstage, where the fashion crowd gathered to capture the show’s moments. In a surprising twist, Anna Wintour, the Vogue editor-in-chief and the supposed inspiration for Priestly, was seen sitting across the runway. The two shared a light moment backstage, exchanging hugs and laughter.

In the upcoming “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” Streep will reprise her role alongside returning cast members Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt. Newcomers include Simone Ashley, Lucy Liu, and Justin Theroux. The sequel is set to be released by 20th Century Studios in May 2026, nearly 20 years after the original film debuted.
