Meta Unveils Advanced Llama 3.3 AI Model and New WhatsApp Feature to Enhance User Experience

Meta has announced the launch of its advanced AI assistant, powered by the state-of-the-art language model Llama 3.3. This new AI offering is designed to enhance the user experience across Meta’s popular apps, including WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger, as well as being available on a dedicated website, meta.ai.

The Llama 3.3 model has become the most widely adopted globally, with over 650 million downloads. By continuing to open-source its tools, Meta aims to foster innovation and position itself as a foundational player in AI development. The company has also announced plans to build a new AI data centre in Louisiana and is exploring an undersea cabling project to enhance its infrastructure.

In addition to the Llama 3.3 launch, WhatsApp is developing a new feature that will allow users to forward messages and media directly to the Meta AI chatbot. This feature, currently accessible for beta testers in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.26.8 update, aims to simplify the sharing process by eliminating the need for manual copying and pasting of content into conversations with Meta AI.

Users will have the option to add more context to the forwarded content, providing a specific question or query they wish to ask the chatbot. This will enable Meta AI to deliver more precise and personalized responses. If no additional input is provided, Meta AI will simply analyze the forwarded content as it is. The feature also eliminates the need to save images and videos locally before sending them to Meta AI, allowing users to forward content directly and save time.

Meta’s Meta AI assistant has already reached 600 million monthly active users across its suite of apps, including Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp. This new feature is part of Meta’s ongoing efforts to improve user interactions and enhance the overall user experience with its AI technologies.
