Rob Marciano has made a notable return to television, joining CBS News as a meteorologist. This follows months after his departure from ABC News earlier this year under undisclosed circumstances. Marciano is currently reporting from Tampa, Florida, as the state braces for a potential hurricane landfall.

Marciano announced his return on social media with a post stating, “Back to work… be safe Florida,” and shared a photograph of himself amidst his field reporting duties. His first appearance for CBS News was noted on October 8 during the CBS Evening News segment.

Marciano’s departure from ABC News in April was marked by silence regarding the reasons from both the network and Marciano himself. Prior to that, he held a long-standing role since 2014, where he served as a senior meteorologist for “World News Tonight” and “Good Morning America’s” weekend edition.

Marciano’s career spans major networks, having previously anchored on “Entertainment Tonight” and served as a news and weather anchor at CNN.

CBS News has faced its own transitions. Jeff Glor, who was a co-host on “CBS Saturday Morning” and previously the anchor of “CBS Evening News,” is among those who have departed the network. Other notable exits include Anna Werner, senior consumer investigative correspondent, and Ben Tracy, senior national and environmental correspondent. In terms of new appointments, Jericka Duncan has taken on a role with the “CBS Weekend News.”

Additionally, Norah O’Donnell has been reassigned to a senior correspondent role at CBS, stepping down from her position at “CBS Evening News.” Gayle King continues her tenure, co-hosting “CBS Mornings.”
