Miami Dolphins Jalen Ramsey Trade Rumors

Miami, FL — In a dramatic off-season for the Miami Dolphins, a much-anticipated trade involving defensive star Jalen Ramsey never came to fruition.

After requesting a trade two weeks prior, Ramsey, a seven-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro, remains on the roster as of May 1, 2025. Dolphins General Manager Chris Grier stated that the team is not actively seeking to move Ramsey until after the NFL Draft. Grier noted that the inability to trade Ramsey during the draft means the team has missed a chance to gain valuable draft capital.

With the 2025 draft picks no longer on the table, the possibility of a strong trade for Ramsey has diminished. His contract structure suggests it may be more beneficial for the Dolphins to wait until after June 1 to finalize any deal, as this would clear nearly $10 million in cap space.

Ramsey’s potential destinations have been the subject of speculation, including a possible reunion with the Los Angeles Rams. However, reports indicate that the Rams may not pursue this option due to their current roster composition and salary implications associated with Ramsey’s contract.

Among the teams hoping to sign the veteran cornerback this summer are the Baltimore Ravens, who have struggled with injuries in their secondary over the past two years. The Ravens have consistently aimed to improve depth at the position and could see value in adding a player of Ramsey’s caliber.

Tampa Bay is also mentioned as a potential landing spot, having enhanced their roster with young talent while still seeking to maintain their status as defending division champions. However, financial logistics could complicate any move.

As the summer approaches, speculations continue about where Ramsey might end up, highlighting not only his value on the field but also the complexities of NFL trades.
