Modi Cabinet 3.0: Portfolios Allocated to Ministers in New Union Government
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the portfolios for his Cabinet Ministers in the newly formed Union government, marking a significant development in the country’s political landscape. The allocation of key ministerial positions to prominent leaders signals a continuity of leadership and vision.
The major portfolios have been retained by their respective ministers, with Amit Shah heading the Home Ministry, Rajnath Singh overseeing Defence, Nirmala Sitharaman in charge of Finance, S Jaishankar handling External Affairs, and Nitin Gadkari taking charge of Road Transport & Highways.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan, a seasoned politician, has been entrusted with the crucial Agriculture Ministry, further diversifying the representation within the Cabinet. Meanwhile, the Aviation Ministry has been assigned to TDP’s Rammohan Naidu, reflecting the collaborative nature of the government.
Among the key figures in the Cabinet, JP Nadda, the BJP National President, has been appointed as the Health Minister, underscoring the administration’s focus on public welfare and healthcare initiatives.
The swearing-in ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan marked the formal induction of 72 ministers into the Modi government, featuring a blend of experienced leaders and new faces from NDA allies like TDP, JDU, LJP, and Shiv Sena.
Notable names like Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Manohar Lal Khattar, and HD Kumaraswamy have taken on ministerial roles for the first time, bringing with them a wealth of governance experience and strategic insights.
