PM Modi Slashes LPG Cylinder Price by ₹100 on International Women’s Day
On the occasion of International Women's Day, Prime Minister Modi made a groundbreaking announcement, reducing the price of LPG cylinders by ₹100, in a move aimed at alleviating financial burdens of households across the nation, particularly benefiting the women empowerment initiative, Nari Shakti.
The decision aligns with the commitment to enhance the affordability of cooking gas, promoting healthier living conditions for families nationwide, as emphasized by the Prime Minister on social media platform X.
Following this decision, Oil Minister Puri shared updates on X, mentioning that under the Ujjwala Yojana, LPG cylinders will now be available at ₹503 for the beneficiaries, and at ₹803 for other consumers, marking a significant reduction in prices.
Expressing gratitude, Minister Puri highlighted the compassionate approach of PM Modi towards providing support to over 10 crore beneficiaries of the PM Ujjwala Yojana, aiming at uplifting women and their families in the country.
The subsidy extension plan, allowing for a maximum of 12 refills per annum, is estimated to incur an expenditure of ₹12,000 crore in the fiscal year 2025, continuing the government’s focus on facilitating economic stability and environmental sustainability.
