MISSOULA, Mont. — Montana Millionaire tickets for the 2025 lottery will go on sale at 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 1. The anticipation for this annual game is building as all 620,000 available tickets are expected to sell out quickly.

In recent years, the popularity of the Montana Millionaire has surged significantly. In 2022, tickets sold out in about 29 hours, but the 2024 lottery saw ticket availability vanish within just 2 hours and 46 minutes—a timeline that surprised even lottery officials.

This year, the Montana Lottery has expanded the game to include 620,000 tickets, an increase of 120,000 from last year to meet the growing demand. “It’s a raffle game, and once one place is sold out, everywhere is sold out,” said Montana Lottery content manager Celina Clift. “As soon as that 620,000th ticket is sold, then it’s gone.”

The 2025 Montana Millionaire will include five $1 million prizes, which will be drawn on December 26. Additionally, participants will have a chance to win a $250,000 “Quarter Million Monday” prize on December 1, along with opportunities for instant wins with 2,500 $500 prizes and 6,100 $100 prizes.

The ticket price remains at $20, and sales will be available statewide at both traditional retailers and self-service lottery terminals. This year’s lottery is included in the Montana Lottery’s Players Club, which offers extra rewards and monthly drawings for ticket holders.

Proceeds from the Montana Lottery support the Montana STEM/Healthcare Scholarship Program, with Clift noting that $2.25 million goes towards scholarships. Clift also mentioned discussions about limiting ticket purchases per customer, but emphasized the goal of inclusivity: “We don’t want to discriminate against anyone,” she said.

Last year, major winners included two million-dollar tickets claimed in Great Falls, one in Billings, and another in Dillon. The winner of the $250,000 prize last year was from Vaughn. Millon-dollar winners have previously emerged from various locations including Kalispell and Butte.

As the lottery approaches its 20th anniversary next year, Clift concluded, “People are just expecting this game. It’s on the same day every year. It’s at the same time, same price point.”
