Bonn, Germany — As the automotive industry prepares for ALSC Europe 2025, MSC is positioning itself as a pivotal player in the evolving global supply chain landscape. In a pre-event interview, Johanna Wrage, global accounts automotive deputy manager at MSC, discussed the company’s efforts to enhance logistics solutions through intermodal strategies tailored for customer needs.

The automotive sector is under continuous pressure to streamline logistics while improving sustainability and resilience across supply chains. MSC, a global leader in shipping and logistics, addresses these challenges by offering comprehensive transport solutions beyond traditional port-to-port shipping.

Wrage emphasized the importance of MSC’s intermodal logistics strategy, integrating rail, road, and inland waterways to facilitate efficient transportation. “Our goal is to help customers navigate sustainability challenges and shifting capacity needs,” she said. “We are committed to providing them with the best tools and support to optimize their supply chains.”

One of MSC’s key initiatives is the promotion of decarbonization efforts through its biofuel solutions, assisting customers in reducing their carbon footprints. Additionally, the company has established a dedicated automotive logistics team focused on personalized support, enabling businesses to track and manage their supply chains effectively.

“In Germany alone, we have a whole department of experts working exclusively on automotive customers,” Wrage added. “The automotive industry is time-sensitive, and our customers appreciate the direct contact with our team for real-time updates about their shipments.”

Scheduled for March 18 to 20, 2025, the 22nd edition of ALSC Europe in Bonn will bring together industry experts to explore how firms can remain competitive in a fast-evolving market. Discussions will focus on strategies for streamlining logistics, digital investment, cost reduction, and achieving environmental sustainability.

Industry analysts also note that the supply of roll-on/roll-off (ro-ro) vessels is currently rebalancing with demand growth for maritime finished vehicle transport. According to VesselsValue, there may even be an oversupply of car carrier capacity expected in 2025 and 2026.

The ALSC event is crucial for automotive logistics and supply chain professionals to network and exchange insights on best practices and emerging trends. Automotive Logistics stands as a leading resource in providing vital access to global news and intelligence in the automotive logistics sector.
