A three-vehicle collision occurred this afternoon around 2:15 PM, according to local reports. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, though paramedics assessed those involved as a precautionary measure. The incident took place on a notorious stretch of road known for frequent accidents.

Accidents at this location consistently lead to significant traffic congestion, creating a long line of vehicles. The area is infamous for multiple weekly collisions, suggesting an ongoing issue with traffic safety.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution in this area. High speeds and a lack of awareness regarding slow-moving traffic in the right lane, particularly when merging onto the westbound Félix Leclerc Highway, are contributing factors to the hazardous conditions.

An additional concern arises with drivers coming from Lebourgneuf. As these motorists merge onto Laurentian Highway South and attempt to enter the center lane, an increase in speed from those in the center and left lanes pose a risk of collision. This is exacerbated by congestion in the left lane, which results in near-static vehicles facing incoming traffic.

The area is described as dangerous and potentially poorly designed, prompting questions about whether the Quebec Ministry of Transport (MTQ) could consider lowering the speed limit to 70 km/h to mitigate the risk of accidents.
