Musk And Trump Interview Delayed By Cyberattack

A much-anticipated conversation between billionaire Elon Musk and former President Donald Trump faced a hiccup on Monday evening when X, the social media platform Musk owns, struggled to load the discussion. The delay lasted over 40 minutes, and Musk attributed it to a ‘massive’ cyberattack on the site.

Initially set to start at 8 p.m. EDT, the interview finally kicked off just under 45 minutes late. Musk opened the talk by suggesting that adversaries might have targeted the platform to silence Trump.

Once they got going, Musk and Trump talked about a range of topics, including a recent assassination attempt on Trump. Musk praised Trump’s response during that episode, calling it ‘incredibly inspiring.’ They also aired their concerns about rising unauthorized immigration, with Trump vowing to initiate the ‘largest deportation’ in U.S. history if elected again.

The conversation took a turn towards current political dynamics when they discussed President Joe Biden‘s exit from the race, during which Trump claimed it was akin to a ‘coup’ within the Democratic Party.

Many users experienced frustration trying to log in to hear the interview, with some being redirected to a ‘details not available’ message. As the delay stretched on, around 765,000 users waited, listening to hold music.

Even after the issues, they managed to resume with a smaller audience, while Musk promised to make the full audio available later. This interview comes on the heels of Trump returning to X for the first time in over a year, where he promoted the event and discussed his ongoing legal challenges.
