The Nagaland State Lottery results for October 17, 2024, have been announced. The lottery, which offers three daily draws—at 1 PM, 6 PM, and 8 PM—declared its winners for the “Dear Mahanadi Morning,” “Dear Dancer Evening,” and “Dear Sandpiper Night” categories. Each of these lotteries offers a first prize of ₹1 crore.

The distribution of prizes for these lotteries is as follows: the second prize is ₹9,000, followed by additional prizes of ₹450, ₹250, ₹120, and a consolation prize of ₹1,000.

According to Nagaland’s lottery regulations, winners must claim their prizes within 30 days by submitting their winning ticket and required claims forms to the designated offices. Prizes over ₹10,000 are subject to tax deductions at source, in line with the Income Tax Act, 1961. The winnings may be claimed at the Nagaland Office in Kolkata.

The Nagaland State Lotteries, founded in 1972 under the supervision of the Government of Nagaland‘s Finance Department, provide the state with a significant source of revenue. The lotteries are conducted every day of the week under different names and prize amounts, each with a minimum ticket price of ₹6.

In India, lotteries are legal in 13 states, including Nagaland, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Mizoram, Kerala, Maharashtra, Goa, Manipur, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, and Assam. These lotteries have been permitted to operate since 1967.

The Directorate of Nagaland State Lotteries is tasked with the oversight of these events, ensuring they are conducted in an organized and timely manner at P.R. Hill Junction in Kohima. The results are regularly updated and made available to the public through various news outlets.
