Narendra Modi’s Swearing-in Ceremony Likely to be Shifted to June 9
The wait continues for the swearing-in ceremony of caretaker Prime Minister Narendra Modi as it has been reported that the ceremony is likely to be shifted to June 9. This development follows the recent Lok Sabha Election Results 2024 announced by the Election Commission of India.
The Lok Sabha election results showed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerging victorious on 240 out of the 543 seats, while the Congress secured 99 seats. Despite falling short of the majority mark of 272, the BJP will rely on its NDA allies to form the new government.
Following the election results, Prime Minister Modi and the Union Council of Ministers resigned, with the President Droupadi Murmu accepting the resignation. The President requested the government to continue in office until the new government is formed.
Amidst the election outcome, NDA members like Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu elected Narendra Modi as their leader, indicating a potential government formation with the NDA allies.
Various political leaders and party members have been engaging in discussions and meetings to strategize the next steps post the election results. Parties like the INDIA Bloc, led by Mallikarjun Kharge, have been holding meetings to discuss the evolving political landscape.
