Narendra Modi Sworn in for Third Term Alongside Key Ministers in the NDA Government
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has officially been sworn in for his third term as the head of the Indian government. President Droupadi Murmu presided over the ceremony where key ministers, including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman, and S. Jaishankar, also took their oaths.
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has retained its position as the ruling party with a total of 293 seats in the recently concluded General Elections. The opposition coalition, known as the INDIA bloc, secured 232 seats for the upcoming parliamentary session.
The 18th Lok Sabha Assembly was inaugurated during the ceremony, marking the formal beginning of the new government’s term. Several familiar faces in the government, such as Arjun Munda, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Pralhad Joshi, and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, were present during the oath-taking.
Key leaders like HD Kumaraswamy, JP Nadda, General V. K. Singh, Ramdas Athawale, Mohindar Krishan Pandey, and many others were also part of the ceremony, symbolizing the diverse representation in the government. Notable figures like Pankaj Chaudhary, Rameswar Teli, V. K. Singh, Smriti Irani, Meenakshi Lekhi, Anurag Thakur, Manohar Lal Khattar, and HD Kumaraswamy were among those who took their oaths of office.
