PM Narendra Modi Wishes Ramzan Mubarak: Reactions of Political Leaders & Vice President
The holy month of Ramzan has begun, with the sighting of the crescent moon marking the first day of fasting. Political leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President, and Foreign Minister have extended their greetings to the citizens on the occasion of Ramzan. PM Narendra Modi took to Twitter to wish everyone a blessed Ramzan and expressed hope for joy, good health, and prosperity in everyone’s life during this auspicious month.
Similarly, Vice President Jagdish Mukhi also shared his best wishes on the eve of Ramzan’s commencement. He hoped that this sacred month would bring peace, prosperity, and happiness to everyone’s lives. Mukhi, through his post, extended greetings and good wishes to everyone embarking on the holy journey of the month of Ramzan.
Foreign Minister S Jaishankar also greeted everyone on the start of this sacred month. He mentioned that this festival would bring peace, happiness, and good health for all. Additionally, the Bahujan Samaj Party chief and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh also posted on social media, wishing everyone a ‘Ramzan Mubarak’.
After the sighting of the moon, the Taraweeh prayers have commenced in the mosques. People gathered on the rooftops and balconies to spot the moon as the evening descended. The sighting of the moon prompted people to exchange greetings of ‘Ramzan Mubarak’ and celebrate with joy.
This year, the sweetness of dates is a bit costlier. Different varieties of dates are available in the market, with Iranian dates priced at Rs 120 per kilo, dates with pits at Rs 100 per kilo, Khajoor dates at Rs 200 per kilo, Kimmia dates at Rs 150 per packet, and Kimmia Golden at Rs 160 per packet. The prices of dates have seen an increase of Rs 30 to Rs 50 compared to previous years, according to date seller Mohammed Shakir.
