Natalie Portman Attends Theatre Premiere in London with Greta Gerwig
Natalie Portman was recently seen in London attending the premiere of the theatre production “What We Talk About When We Talk About Anne Frank” at the Marylebone Theatre. Accompanying her was none other than her close friend and esteemed director, Greta Gerwig. The Hollywood actress is well-known for her high-fashion appearances but chose a more subdued look for this particular event.
Portman opted for a casual and autumn-appropriate ensemble, comprising a longline black coat layered over a blue knitted cardigan and straight-leg jeans. She completed the look with monochrome sneakers and minimal makeup. Her hair was styled down and loose, adding to her relaxed appearance. The actress attended the event alongside writer Nathan Englander, with whom she discussed the production. Englander’s show, a serious-comedy, runs throughout October and early November and is directed by Patrick Marber.
Gerwig, on the other hand, chose a chic olive green trench, a white shirt, a black sweater, and matching trousers for the evening. The director of the acclaimed “Barbie” film, Gerwig previously collaborated with Portman in the 2016 film “Jackie,” where Portman played Jacqueline Kennedy and Gerwig portrayed her social secretary, Nancy Tuckerman.
Recently, Portman received the 2024 Talent Award at the Deauville American Film Festival in France. At the ceremony, she was dressed in a distinguished black-and-silver outfit with textured detailing and accessories that included a dramatic choker. French actress Isabelle Adjani presented her with the award. This accolade was given in recognition of Portman’s versatile acting career, spanning roles in films such as “Léon: The Professional,” “Black Swan,” and “Jackie.”
According to festival organizers, Portman’s selection was due to her exceptional ability to portray a wide range of characters with depth and sensitivity. Her career, which kicked off when she was discovered by a talent scout at a young age, has since flourished, gaining her acclaim and numerous prestigious awards.
