Customers of NatWest have been facing significant challenges with the bank’s online banking services, specifically the mobile app, today. The issues were first reported early in the morning, with users expressing frustration over their inability to access their accounts and make transactions.

According to reports from DownDetector, the problems with NatWest’s online banking services began around 5.30am, affecting users across various regions in the UK, including Birmingham, London, and Manchester.

Most of the complaints registered on DownDetector highlighted issues related to the mobile banking app, with a smaller percentage reporting problems with online banking and online login procedures.

One user shared their dismay on Twitter, stating, “Online banking and the Android App both down for me. I have gone overdrawn in the bank, and I have no idea why? No way to check it, and no way to rectify the situation. There better not be any charges coming my way.”

Another user turned to X, a social media platform, to inquire about the outage, expressing frustration at the timing of the service disruption, especially on payday. Several others also voiced their concerns and inconveniences caused by the ongoing technical issues.

In response to the widespread reports of service disruption, NatWest issued a statement on X, acknowledging the problem and assuring customers that they are investigating it with top priority. The bank advised users to monitor their website for updates regarding the status of their services as they work to resolve the issues.
