NBA and WNBA Legends Curry and Ionescu Face Off in Historic 3-Point Challenge
Two basketball icons, Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors and Sabrina Ionescu of the New York Liberty, are set to make history in a groundbreaking 3-point challenge during the NBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis.
Curry, renowned for his sharpshooting skills beyond the arc, will face Ionescu, who holds the record for most 3-point shots made in a single WNBA season.
The duo, who share a mutual admiration, will engage in a competition that promises to redefine the boundaries of basketball excellence.
The idea for this epic showdown originated after Ionescu’s spectacular performance at last year’s WNBA 3-point contest, surpassing Curry’s records and setting a new standard in long-distance shooting.
The rules of the challenge are set to highlight the talents of both players, with Curry shooting from the NBA 3-point line and Ionescu from the WNBA line, using respective league basketballs.
Both Curry’s Eat.Learn.Play. foundation and Ionescu’s SI20 Foundation will receive donations from the NBA and WNBA as part of the competition, with State Farm pledging additional contributions to the NBA Foundation.
As the basketball world eagerly anticipates this monumental matchup, fans of the game are poised to witness a clash of titans on the court, where legacy and skill will converge in an unforgettable display of talent.
